Philodendron ‘Revolution’
Common Names Revolution Philodendron, Spiral-Leaf Philodendron, Thaumatophyllum ‘Revolution’
Zones 9B–11 (outdoors); Zone 8+ with protection; indoor year-round in colder zones
Philodendron ‘Revolution’ is a compact, self-heading cultivar known for its spiraling leaf arrangement and scalloped, semi-lobed foliage. Originally classified under Philodendron, it has since been reassigned to Thaumatophyllum, reflecting its closer relation to tree-like philodendrons such as bipinnatifidum. Unlike typical flat-leaf philodendrons, ‘Revolution’ produces upright leaves that twist gently around the central stem, creating a dynamic, sculptural form ideal for interiorscapes and tropical containers.
